  • The deadline for the submission is 31 May, 2010 (postmark), till that date you have time to
    prepare your submission.
  • Is the competition only for landscape architects from Austria?
  • The competition is international and open to landscape architects, architects, designers, artists, gardeners, florists, landscaping firms and plant nurseries, as well as to garden owners, or teams consisting of a combination thereof from all over the world.
  • May I submit the private landscape project, which has been already submitted in another international biennial in the USA?
  • Only projects that have already been submitted for “best private plots competition” in 2006, 2007 or 2008 will be disqualified. There is no disqualification of projects that have been submitted to other competitions.
  • What kind of poster is required? Can you specify that?
  • The poster should present the idea and the concept of the garden to the jury and later on to the visitors of the exhibition. Experience has shown that e.g. the use of one big foto in combination with some smaller fotos serves this purpose very well.
    See the submission brief:

  • We designed a building with an office on the ground floor and an apartment on the upper floor. In front of the building, there is a garden courtyard that can be used by the office as well as the apartment tenants above. Will this qualify for the competition, since it is intended to be used by the office and the residents?

  • I was wondering if we should enter one of our projects that we are just completing. In fact, it is not over yet, and will be over only in the next 3 months, I would imagine. The reason I am asking is, does the jury allow for the fact that the garden is not matured?
  • If the jury can already see the structure of the garden on the photos, it could be sufficiant.
  • You say "4 to 8 photographs" in your brief. Is that only for A4 size?
  • 4 to 8 photographs will be fine and correct. If you want to send more, it is not a problem. All photographs should have the size of A4 300 dpi.
  • Are any Chinese companies participating in this competition?
  • We don´t know if there will be submissions of any Chinese companies - but we tried to promote the competition also in China. We will know the participants after the deadline of submission (31st of May).
  • As in China the garden making process is as important as the final outcome, we want to show some pictures about the process, we want to known if this is necessary?

  • Of course you don´t have to show the adress on the poster, but for presenting the garden it
will be of interest, where the garden is - so the region is sufficiant.
